font size

The State Council, or the central government, has approved the guidelines for its work in 2006, which highlights the importance of reform, efficiency and discipline.

Premier Wen Jiabao presided over an Executive Meeting of the State Council on Wednesday, a day after the closing of the annual parliamentary session.

The State Council has established the guidelines in accordance with Premier Wen's government report to the Fourth Session of the Tenth National People's Congress.

The guidelines urge all departments under the State Council to accomplish this year's tasks, which pose a test of the government's executive powers and credibility.
