First business website launched in Zambia

Coppernet Solution Zambia in partnership with Business Development Service (BDS) have launched the country's first business portal to effectively market local products on the global market especially tourism service, according to Zambia Daily Mail on Wednesday.

It is an information and marketing Internet tool for businesses in the country and has a cost-shared use of online advertising, and promotional campaigns among others features, the report said.

The BDS is a small business support and market development service in Zambia, the newspaper said.

Chief executive officer of Coppernet Solution Zambia Philip Chitalu was quoted as saying that the new service will provide an opportunity to all Zambian business small or large to leverage on the Internet technology to access markets and improve performance.

Chitalu said lack of core and distinctive competencies in Internet applications, financial, company resource weakness and other competitive deficiencies have compromised efforts to use the Internet in most business in the southern African country.
