Finland opposes the European Union's (EU) decision to impose provisional anti-dumping duties on imports of Chinese shoes, the Finnish News Agency reported on Thursday.
All EU member states briefed the European Commission (EC), the executive arm of the regional bloc, on their positions on the planned move in Brussels Thursday. Member states in southern Europe supported the move, but Finland and other members voiced their opposition, the report said.
Finland sees the move could harm the interests of EU shoe retailers and consumers, the report added.
The EC will make a final decision on whether to impose provisional anti-dumping duties on imports of Chinese shoes next week.
