The just-concluded seventh meeting of the China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Joint Cooperation Committee has agreed that their bilateral strategic partnership oriented to peace and prosperity has continued to advance.

The partnership has brought substantial benefits to China and the ASEAN member states, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry's news release Friday.

The meeting was held in Nanning, capital of South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, from March 15 to 16.

The meeting focused on exchange of views on the commemorative activities for the 15th anniversary of building the dialogue mechanism between China and ASEAN and a summit meeting.

The Joint Cooperation Committee, set up in 1997, acts as an annual dialogue and coordination mechanism between China and ASEAN.
