Nepal highly appreciates China for taking a principled stand on bilateral relations and consistently treating Nepal on an equal footing and respectfully, a Nepali expert said in Kathmandu Friday.

"We also appreciate China's wish to see Nepal realize peace, stability, development and national reconciliation," Madan Regmi, chairman of China Study Center (CSC) of Nepal, said at a joint reception given in honor of visiting Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan by the CSC and the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.

"Tang's visit at this critical juncture of our history is very important and highly meaningful," he said.

China's latest call to all the Nepalese political forces to narrow differences through dialogue was the best suggestion a sincere friend can deliver, he added.

Tang arrived here Thursday on a three-day official visit to Nepal.
