Chinese state councilor concludes visit in Nepal

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan concluded his three-day official visit to Nepal and left Kathmandu Saturday morning.

"I am very satisfied with this visit," Tang told Xinhua at the Tribhuvan International Airport before his departure.

He met with Tulsi Giri and Kirti Nidhi Bista, vice chairmen of the Council of Ministers, or cabinet, on Friday morning and with Nepali King Gyanendra on Friday evening.

During his meeting with the Nepali king, Tang said the Chinese government will continue to pursue a policy of friendship toward Nepal and attach great importance to developing comprehensive and friendly relations with Nepal.

China will consistently support Nepal in its effort to safeguard sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, according to Tang.

Tang also held talks with other Nepali officials including Foreign Minister Ramesh Nath Pandey on Friday.
