A roadside bomb went off near a police commando patrol in southern Baghdad on Sunday, killing a commando member and wounding another, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.
"A roadside bomb detonated near a police commando patrol while passing through the Baiyaa district, killing a commando member and wounding another," the source said on condition of anonymity.
The blast also damaged a police vehicle, he said.
In a separate incident, an explosive charge blew up under a water pipeline in Baghdad's al-Mualemeen neighborhood, damaging the pipeline without human casualties, he added.
The two attacks came a day before the third anniversary of the U.S.-led war against Iraq, which began on March 20 of 2003.
