A total of 42 Chinese companies are present at the 39th Cairo International Fair which kicked off in Cairo Sunday, a Chinese Embassy official said.

"A total of 42 Chinese companies have attended the fair, and they have set up 59 exhibition booths with a floor area of nearly 800 square meters," Cui Mingmo, head of the economic and commercial section of the Chinese Embassy in Cairo, told Xinhua.

Attending the fair can help the Chinese companies establish better ties with local sellers and find business opportunities here, he said.

Chinese products displayed at the fair include motorcycles, bicycles and industrial machinery.

The Cairo International Fair is one of the biggest trade fairs in Egypt.

The 10-day event, which draws some 2,000 companies from 67 countries around the world, will last until March 28.
