font size

Around 4,000 people demonstrated in Madrid on Sunday protesting the U.S.-led occupation of Iraq and expressing support for the resistance in Iraq and Palestine.

The demonstrators also called for Spanish troops' withdrawal from Afghanistan and Haiti.

Some 30 social and left-wing organizations arranged the march on the third anniversary of the beginning of the U.S.-led war in Iraq.

In the Spanish city of Barcelona, 2,000 people joined a march protesting the war, police said, with organizers claiming a figure of 4,000.

Thousands of demonstrators across the world denounced on Sunday the U.S.-led war in Iraq.
