Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos arrived in Shanghai on Monday afternoon, kicking off his four-day official visit to China.

During his stay, Moratinos will attend the third meeting of China-Spain Forum, a high-level institution of the two countries, which is scheduled to open on Tuesday.

Besides Shanghai, his China tour will also take him to Beijing, where he is scheduled to meet with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Zhaoxing on international and regional issues of common concern.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said earlier Moratinos's visit is a good opportunity for the two sides to exchange opinions on further strengthening China-Spain strategic partnership.
