Airbus to employ 100 Chinese engineers this year
font size

The Airbus (Beijing) Engineering Centre is expected to help the long-term development of the Chinese aviation industry by employing 100 Chinese engineers this year and double that number by the end of next year.

The Airbus Company recently held a special conference at Qinghua University to find suitable employees from graduates. This is the third time the company has held a conference in China's universities.

By the end of 2005, a total of 59 Chinese engineers were working for the Airbus Engineering Center in Beijing. By the end of 2007 the number is expected to reach 200.

The Airbus Engineering Center was opened in July 2005.

Airbus expects the new aircraft program to play a key role in developing an even closer relationship between Airbus and the Chinese aviation industry. The company hopes China will become a full risk-sharing partner in the next generation of aircraft.
