A total of 994 examination centers have been set up for the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations to be held from next week throughout the country, Examinations' Controller Office (ECO) of Nepal said here Wednesday.
"A total of 332,181 students including 206,047 from the regular group and 72,134 from the exempted group are taking part in the examinations," ECO said in a press statement.
The SLC examinations is taking place from March 27 to April 5, 2006. The Examinations will be held throughout the country from 7: 30 to 10:30 a.m. local time (0145 to 0445GMT), the statement said.
According to ECO, altogether 40,304 personnel including 994 superintendents, 1,988 assistant superintendents, 16,609 inspectors, 14,910 security personnel and 5,803 assistant employees will be mobilized for conducting the examinations.
Meanwhile, the ECO has appealed to all examinees, parents, teachers, employees, security personnel, intellectual, civil society members and professional organizations to help from their respective sectors in holding the SLC examinations in a healthy and fearless environment.
The ECO has also urged the various political parties, groups and their sister organizations not to organize any programs like strikes or any kinds of agitation function that could have an adverse affect on the examination.
