Chinese President Hu Jintao has recently given important instructions on strengthening the work of cadre education and training.

Hu, also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee stressed that creating new ways for cadre training on the basis of practical conditions and pursuing actual effects are the most important factors for strengthening the work of cadre training.

President Hu said cadre training colleges should keep on exploring new methods to improve the effectiveness of training, advance cadres' theoretic level and capability of solving problems by applying theories.

Hu noted that China's opening up and modernization construction have entered a crucial stage. The continuous improvement of quality and capabilities of cadres at all levels is the key for the complete implementation of the scientific concept of development and the realization of all-around and sustainable development of economy and society, which poses higher standards for the work of cadre training and education.

He hopes the cadre training colleges strive for the first-rate teaching quality through full utilization of the precious advantages in resources, so as to better serve the building of a well-off society in an all-around way and speed up the socialist modernization.

"The important instructions of Hu Jintao sets clear directions for the work of cadre training and education. Cadres must comprehend the spirits of the instructions through careful study and carry the spirits out in the work of cadre training", said He Guoqiang, a member of the Politburo and secretariat of CPC central committee and head of cadre training colleges at Pudong, Jinggangshan and Yan'an, at the opening ceremony in Jinggangshan for the spring semester.
