Senior Chinese, Kyrgyz generals vow to boost military ties
font size

Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan met with the Commander of the Kyrgyz Border Guard Service Myrzakan Subanov in Beijing Thursday and agreed to enhance bilateral military ties.

With the smooth growth of Sino-Kyrgyz relations, the two militaries have seen remarkable achievements in cooperation in various fields, said Cao, who is also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor.

Noting that China values its good friendship with Kyrgyzstan, Cao said his country would like to step up exchanges and cooperation and make more efforts to boost the Sino-Kyrgyz relations and military ties.

Kyrgyzstan and China share a border of 1,080 km, yet they have no frontier disputes," Subanov said, hailing China's good neighborly policy.

The cooperation between the two militaries complies with the times and Kyrgyzstan would like to contribute more to the promotion of bilateral friendship, said Subanov, who is also the first deputy director of Kyrgyz National Security Service.
