Chinese State Councilor Chen Zhili met with a Swedish delegation of the review committee of the Nobel Prize Thursday in Beijing.

The delegation, headed by Anders Flodstrom, president of the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, paid the visit to China at the invitation of the Ministry of Education.

Chen briefed the delegation members on the situation in China's education, science and technology. The two sides had an exchange of views on issues of common concern.

Chen also met later Thursday with Sadako Ogata, president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and her party who visited China as guests of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
