Singapore's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 1.2 percent in February over the same month of last year, according to the figures released by the Singapore Department of Statistics (SDS) on Thursday.
The price index for housing increased by 3.1 percent in February from a year ago while that for recreation grew by 2.6 percent in the same month.
The CPI for education and stationery rose by 2.3 percent in the second month of this year and the indices for food and health care grew by 0.6 percent and 0.7 percent respectively.
The clothing and footwear price index increased by 1.2 percent in February, while the CPI for transport and communication continued to decline by 1.4 percent in the same month.
The CPI for the first two months of this year rose by 1.5 percent over the same period of 2005.
