Nepali high-ranking official meet Chinese journalist delegation

Nepali Vice Chairmen of the Council of Ministers Kirti Nidhi Bista met with a visiting Chinese journalist delegation Friday in Kathmandu.

Nepal and China enjoy traditional friendship marked by warmth of friendship, cordiality, mutual trust, understanding and cooperation, Bista said, adding, "After the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have made great progress in strengthening understanding and cooperation."

"Media always plays important role in bilateral relations, So I hope this visit could help Chinese people know Nepal better," Bista noted.

"The aim of our visit is to further strengthen the friendship and understanding between Nepali and Chinese media, thereby to improve the cultural, political and social exchanges between the two countries," Shao Huaze, chairman of the All China Journalists Association, said during the meeting.

At the invitation of Nepal Journalists Association, a six- member delegation of Chinese journalists led by Shao visited Nepal from March 23.

Apart from Kathmandu, the Chinese delegation will also visit Pokhara, the famous tourism city in western Nepal and Chitawan, the main jungle safari area in southwestern Nepal during their six- day visit.
