Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Sunday discussed with visiting Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in Egypt's Red Sea resort Sharm el-Sheikh key regional issues, especially the latest Palestinian developments.
Egypt's official MENA news agency reported that the two leaders also discussed the agenda of an upcoming Arab summit due to kick off in Sudanese capital Khartoum on Tuesday as well as the Israeli general elections which will also come on Tuesday.
No further details were released.
An expanded session of talks is scheduled later in the day with members of the two delegations participating.
Abbas arrived in the resort on Saturday night.
