Liu Tianyou wins silver at Shooting World Cup

Chinese marksman Liu Tianyou has shot his way to a silver medal in the men's 10-meter air rifle event at the ISSF World Cup meet in Guangzhou.

Liu, the only Chinese qualifier for the final competition, collected a total of 699.6 points for silver.

India's Narang Gagan claimed the gold with 700.2 points, and meanwhile, won a quota placement for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008

The competition continues tomorrow with the finals of the men's 50-meter pistol and women's 10-meter air rifle.
