The Fifth China International Defense Electronics Exhibition (CIDEX) is scheduled for April 26-29 with the latest technology and devices developed by some 300 companies, organizers said in Beijing Tuesday.

More than 30 foreign firms from the United States, Russia, Britain and other nations will take part in the biannual CIDEX, and exhibit electronics, ammunition, aeronautics and astronautic products, said Zhang Zhijie, vice president of the China National Electronics Import and Export Corporation (CEIEC).

CIDEX, launched in 1998, provides a precious opportunity for stepping up international exchange and cooperation, said Zhang.

The fifth CIDEX will be held in the Beijing Exhibition Center with a floor space of 15,000 square meters for exhibition. It is organized by the CEIEC, the CETC International Co., Ltd and the Beijing Xinlong Electronics Technology Company, Ltd.

The organizers will also arrange two forums on the development and applications of defense electronics during the exhibition.

The last exhibition held in Beijing in 2004 attracted 260 exhibitors and more than 20,000 visitors in four days.
