Italian economy grew by 0.1 percent in 2005, Italian national statistics bureau Istat said on Tuesday.

A preliminary report by the Istat indicated zero growth in 2005, and the revision was due to the fewer number of working days in 2005 compared to the previous year.

Italy's GDP in the last quarter of 2005 was stationary compared to the previous three months, but it recorded a 0.5 percent year-on-year growth.

The average growth in the euro zone over the same period was 1.7 percent, the Istat said.
