With a series of effectual measures taken, China has ensured that the copies of software used in all the governmental bodies are legal by the end of last year, according to Yan Xiaohong, vice chief of the National Copyright Administration.
At a news conference held by the State Council Information Office Monday, Yan said that in order to solve the problem of pirated software in large enterprises, the National Copyright Administration, the Ministry of Information Industry and the Ministry of Commerce are making efforts in two aspects: first, requiring computer producers to install official copies of operation systems before sales; second, requiring large enterprises in China, large state-owned enterprises (SOEs), joint ventures, solely foreign-funded enterprises included, to use legal software
China now has more than 60 million PCs with no operation system installed on overseas markets. China is not responsible as for whether they will be installed with official copies out of China.
