More joint promotions will be held with mainland's Guangdong Province and other cities to woo investment, said Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce, Industry Technology Joseph Wong.

Wong told lawmakers on Wednesday that discussion with Guangdong on this year's cooperation plan had started.

A number of potential foreign investors have been identified from promotional activities jointly run with Chinese mainland provinces and cities. As at the end of last year, 23 investment projects generated from such activities had been successfully completed, and another 81 projects were being pursued.

Apart from a promotion in Stockholm, jointly organized with Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong, this month, InvestHK will stage similar activities in Copenhagen with Guangdong's Dongguan, and in Florence of Italy with Guangdong's Zhuhai next month.

In May, InvestHK will join hands with Guangdong's Shenzhen and Jiangmen to hold promotions in Seoul of South Korea and San Diego of the United States. Activities will be held in Dusseldorf of German and Paris of France in September to attract investors in collaboration with Guangdong's Foshan.

Wong said regular meetings with the Guangdong Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation are held to discuss the direction of and mode of future cooperation.
