The Chinese government encourages capable multi-national companies to invest in China, and will create fair and fine investment environment for them, Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan said on Thursday.
Zeng made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman and CEO of US-based AMD, Hector Ruiz, in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Zeng said the Chinese government attaches great importance to the development of information industry, and proposes in the country's 11th Five-Year Program on national economy and social development to develop such industries as electronic information, integrated circuit, photoelectric communication, wireless communication, high-performance computers and network equipment, which will provide ample opportunities for international electronic and information companies.
Zeng also said he hopes the AMD would expand cooperation with the Chinese side, transfer more technologies, strengthen research and development of new technologies and pay attention to personnel training, so as to achieve common development with Chinese companies.
