The Indonesian government has reported a 30-percent rise in tax revenues in the first quarter of the year, a local newspaper reported Saturday.

Tax revenues totaled 82 trillion rupiah (around 9 billion U.S. dollars) in the first quarter of 2005 against 63 trillion rupiah ( 6.9 billion dollars) in the same period last year, reported Kompas.

The government has set full year tax revenue target at 362 trillion rupiah (39.8 billion dollars).

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati was quoted as saying the government was upbeat to exceed the targeted revenues.
