Official urges quicker efforts to create document on g overnment transparency

A senior Chinese official called on Friday for more efforts to draw up a document to make information transparency a basic government system.

He Yong, deputy head of the Communist Party of China's disciplinary organ, said at a meeting on transparent governance that the government will step up efforts this year to issue the regulations soon.

He urged government departments at various levels, including those at township level, to follow the principle of openness and prepare catalogues on government work transparency.

Efforts should be made to further improve the system of publicizing administration work, transparency review and liability investigation.
