Strong earthquake hits Taiwan

A strong earthquake measuring 6. 4 on the Richter scale hit Taiwan at around 18:04 (1004 GMT) Saturday.

According to TV news from Taiwan, the epicenter was initially determined to be near the city of Taidung and 10 kilometers underground.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage so far.
