Spanish fashion retailer Inditex has set up its first fashion outlet on China's mainland.

The outlet, covering 2,000 square meters of floor space, is housed in a renovated building of more than 100 years old in the most bustling shopping district of Shanghai, China's leading fashion center.

The fashion retailer, boasting 2,700 shops in 62 countries, has brought to China world-famous brands Zara, Kiddy's Class, Pull and Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho and Zara Home.

The company announced that its China market strategy would include more new shops in Shanghai and Beijing later this year.
