Israel arrests two suspected terrorists in northern townIsraeli security forces seized two suspected terrorists on Sunday near a northern town amid alert for terror attacks in the area, local newspaper Ha'aretz reported. After a three-hour search, security forces apprehended the two suspected terrorists at a wood factory in the industrial zone of Beit She'an, said the report. The two were immediately taken for interrogation. "I arrived at the industrial zone and realized that the terrorists who we were looking for were hiding inside the factory, " said Dan Ronen, chief of the Northern District Police which conducted the operation. The two suspects, hiding behind wooden platforms, gave themselves up at last. Sunday's arrest operation came as Israeli security forces raised their alert level in northern Israel Sunday morning, following warnings that two Palestinians wearing suicide bomb belts were heading toward the northern town of Afula and Beit She' an, police spokeswoman Aliza Azoulai said. The high alert level was lifted following the arrest, but large police forces are still deployed in the area. Source: Xinhua |
