Turkmenistan president arrives in Beijing

At the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, Turkmenistan President Saparmurat Niyazov arrived in Beijing on Sunday, kicking off his six-day state visit to China.

According to information from Chinese Foreign Ministry, Niyazov will hold talks with Hu and meet with Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), and they will exchange views on the bilateral relations and regional and international issues of common concern.

Niyazov will also travel to Shanghai, China's economic powerhouse, and eastern province of Zhejiang.
