China will join hands with Greece to boost cooperation in fields of tourism, Olympic Games and marine transportation to push forward bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, Chinese top lawmaker Wu Bangguo said on Monday.

Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), made the remarks in his meeting with Sotirios Hatzigakis, First Deputy President of the Parliament of Greece.

Wu praised the expansion of bilateral exchange and cooperation in various fields, noting that the two sides achieved mutual understanding and support on issues to each other's concern.

The parliamentary exchange is an important part of bilateral relations and the NPC attaches importance to its relations with Greek parliament, Wu said, expressing the hope that the two sides could cement high-level exchanges and improve the friendly cooperation between the special commissions, friendly groups and young parliament members to inject new momentum into the China-Greece relations.

Wu also briefed the guest about the 4th Session of the 10th National People's Congress and China's 11th Five-Year Program.

Hatzigakis said the development of the Greece-China comprehensive strategic partnership is the common aspiration shared by the Greek government, parliament and various political parties, pledging that Greece is willing to make contribution to the cooperation between China and the European Union and that between China and the Mediterranean region.
