Top Pakistani and Turkish diplomats called for a peaceful settlement of Iran's nuclear issue on Monday.

Pakistan Foreign Secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan and Undersecretary Foreign Affairs Ali Tuygan of Turkey held here the second round of political consultations in Islamabad.

"They stressed the need for an amicable settlement of the Iran nuclear issue," a Pakistan foreign ministry statement said.

The first round of consultations between the two countries was held in Ankara in Aug. 2003.

Both sides also expressed support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq, it said.
