Bangladeshi exporters are likely to get export orders for fish and crab from a Malaysian business delegation now here exploring trade opportunities, private news agency UNB reported Monday.

"A good response has been received at a one-to-one business meeting," UNB quoted Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh as saying.

An 11-member trade and investment delegation from the Associated Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia ( ACCCIM) is in the capital on a five-day visit to Bangladesh since April 1.

They are looking for products for import from Bangladesh and prospects for the export of Malaysian products to Bangladesh as well as investment possibilities here.

The one-to-one meeting was organized following a discussion meeting at EPB Sunday with EPB Vice-chairman Mir Shahabuddin Mohammad in the chair.

Mir Shahabuddin invited joint-venture investment in ceramic, power, agriculture and agro-processing, light engineering, leather goods, halal meat processing, fish and crab farming.

He said that the export of halal meat would soon start if Malaysia physically inspected the meat-processing units of Bangladesh and the inspection report was approved by the authorities concerned.
