United States Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer is due to arrive in Kigali on Wednesday for a three-day visit, according to a press release from the U.S. Embassy.
Frazer, who earlier served as special assistant to President George Walker Bush and senior director for African affairs at the National Security Council, is expected to join in the commemoration of the 12th genocide anniversary due to Friday.
"While in the country, Frazer will meet senior Rwandan officials to discuss bilateral relations and regional and international issues of mutual interest," the release said.
Frazer has already visiting neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo where she called on Congolese politicians to accept the results of long-awaited elections scheduled for June.
