Nepal's economy to be up in 2006: ADB
font size

Nepal's economy will grow 2-2.3 percent in 2006, according to the Asian Development Projection -- 2006, which was made public in Kathmandu Thursday by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The projection states that the impact of adverse weather in agriculture will occur this year.

Decline in tourist arrivals and minimal industrial production and agro-production are the hindrances to Nepal's economic growth.

ADB Country Director Sultan Haji Rahman said that the difficult situation should come to an end with the efforts of all.

He expressed hope that activities of economic prosperity will run smoothly by addressing the worries and concerns of the development partners of Nepal as well as the international community.
