Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is now back in Beijing after a week of official visits to Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Cambodia. Chinese foreign minister Li Zhaoxing said Premier Wen's visit was focused on the future and enhancing cooperation.

Li Zhaoxing is also on the Premier's delegation. He said Premier Wen Jiabao's four-nation visit was a big diplomatic move for China.

"Within one week, we visited four countries, travelled more than 30,000 kilometers and attended 70 events. The visit will definitely promote bilateral relations with these four countries and push forward our cooperation in mutilateral organizations," He said.

During the tour, China signed nearly 60 bilateral and mulilateral cooperation documents.

In Australia and New Zealand, Wen Jiabao and the leaders of the two countries held constructive discussions regarding cooperation on trade, energy and mineral resources and also reached consensus on promoting free trade talks.

Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing said, China and the two countries have agreed to develop a cooperative relationship of mutual benefit for the 21st century.

He said "The two sides decide to set it up as a comphrehensive cooperative relationship, a pragmatic relationship that can bring benefits for the people in both countries and that can contribute to regional and world peace and development."

During his tour, Premier Wen also visited Fiji. This milestone visit was the first one paid by a Chinese premier to the Pacific island country in about 30 years. During the visit, Fiji has recognized China's full market economy status.

There, the Chinese premier also attended the opening ceremony of the first China-Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum. He announced a range of preferential policies to assist the development of the Pacific Island countries.

Meanwhile, Li Zhaoxing said the participant countries also reiterated their positions on the Taiwan question.

"We are happy to see that many countries in the south Pacific firmly stick to the 'one-China' policy, opposed to Taiwan independence and supporting China's reunification," said Li.

On the last stop of his tour, in Cambodia, Wen Jiaobao and the country's leaders agreed to deepen their friendship and enlarge their cooperation. Both sides have agreed to establish an all-round cooperative partnership.

Li Zhaoxing said in every nation, Premier Wen Jiabao also introduced China's development as a peaceful, open and cooperative one, an approach that won great support.
