The World Bank pledged to assist Indonesia some 900 million U.S. dollars this year, its visiting President Paul Wolfowitz said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Wolfowitz made the statement after meeting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono after visiting Aceh province, South Sulawesi Province and East Timor.
Two hundred million U.S. dollars of the pledge was highly concessional disburse and the rest of 700 million were for IDRB ( International Development Reconstruction Banks), said Wolfowitz.
He said that the fund for the IDRB was a lending with a better rate than fund available in the commercial market.
The president of the bank hailed the ongoing anti-corruption battle waged by the Indonesian government and said that Indonesia still needed to accelerate the efforts.
