    Fossils of new species of Ornithopoda

    The photo shows the dinosaur fossils excavated in central Jilin in 2003. Researchers with Jilin University recently confirmed that the dinosaur belong to a new species of Ornithopoda. The fossil is about one meter long; the skull is 115 mm in length. This is the first time that Ornithopoda fossils have been discovered in the Cretaceous sediments at the Songliao Basin. The researchers named the dinosaur "Changchun Dinosaur".

    Danish cargo ship kills a fin whale

    Workers were loading a fin whale corpse onto the flatbed trailer on the bank of St. Lawrence River in Quebec Province, Canada, on April 10. It is said the 45-ton fin whale died after getting stuck in the propeller of a Danish cargo ship.

    Death toll of hospital blast rises to 31

    Rescuers work in snow at the blast site in the staff hospital of Xuangang Coal and Electricity Co. Ltd. in Yuanping, a city in north China's Shanxi Province, April 11, 2006. A snowfall hit the area on the afternoon of April 11. The explosion happening on early April 10 has left 31 people dead by press time.

    Passenger trains collision kills two

    Two passenger trains collided in Heping County in South China's Guangdong Province yesterday. Two male workers on board are reported dead and dozens of others injured. The railway, where the accident happened, makes part of the track linking Beijing and Kowloon in Hong Kong.

    Gold price hits record high in Nanjing

    A shop assistant changes new price tag at a jewelry shop on Tuesday in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province. Gold jewelry price in Nanjing has been rising in the past week.
