font size

Ethiopian President Girma Woldegiorgis said on Tuesday his country is willing to share experiences in agricultural sector with Mozambique.

Girma said the sharing of experiences between Ethiopia and Mozambique in the areas of agricultural research and water utilization will benefit the economic growth of both countries.

While receiving outgoing Mozambican Ambassador to Ethiopia Ana Nemba Uaiene, Girma said the two countries, whose economic base is agriculture, need to work together in the areas of agricultural research and water management.

He said that working jointly is important to transform the long- standing relations of the two countries into concrete economic ties.

Girma also underscored the need to maintain the strong political relations between the two countries. He expressed belief that the two countries would advance similar stances in the African Union (AU) and other international fora.

Girma urged the departing ambassador to intensify the effort to strengthen the bilateral relations.

Uaiene, who is also Mozambique's permanent representative to the AU, described the political and economic relations of the two countries as "encouraging."

Ethiopian investors could engage in various economic sectors in Mozambique and their Mozambican counterparts could do the same, she said.

Uaiene said she had the opportunity to observe various development endeavors in Ethiopia during her stay here for over four years.
