Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met Thursday with a delegation of the Greens of Germany.

The delegation, led by Chairman Reinhard Buetikofer, is invited by the CPC to visit China for the first time.

Wang said the friendly exchanges between Chinese and German parties in various fields will be conducive to the in-depth development of the bilateral relations.

He said the Chinese side is willing to further strengthen dialogues and exchanges between statesmen of the two countries in such areas as environmental protection and sustainable development.

Buetikofer said the German side fully agreed with the Chinese side on developing party-to-party relations between the two countries, and is willing to make efforts in this regard.
