London mayor appoints representative to Shanghai

Visiting London Mayor Ken Livingstone on Wednesday appointed Zhao Bingbing as representative of his office to Shanghai.

Zhao will work to enhance cooperation between the two city governments and promote exchanges in culture, education, tourism, financial services and trade.

Livingstone said London attached great importance to relations with Shanghai.

Zhao said she would work hard to push for economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.

Her first major task was to promote London at the Shanghai international film festival in June, where she would seek opportunities for cooperation in movie-making.
