    Temperature drop stops migrant birds

    Tens of thousands migrant birds seek for food on the coastal marsh in Qinghuangdao,north China's Hebei Province, April 13,2006. Affected by temperature drop these days, tens of thousands migrant birds were forced to stay here. They will probably continue to move northward when it turns warmer.

    Tourist number hits new high at Three Gorges

    Two Australian tourists show their photo taken at the Three Gorges on April 13. The Three Gorges tourism zone received 5,000 tourists on the day, setting a new record in history. The number of tourists received increased 43 percent in Q1 2006 as compared with the same period of 2005.

    Colourful Easter eggs

    Easter, one of the most ancient religious holidays commemorating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ usually falls on the first Sunday after the full moon following the spring equinox. Just prior to the holiday, children will decorate the eggs with bright colours to express their sincere gratitude and wishes to friends and families.

    Xiaolong fighter 04 to take off

    The maiden flight of China's third generation fighter Xiaolong 04 will take place at the end of April 2006, according to China Aviation News. Xiaolong 04 is equipped with complete avionics systems. In addition, its structure has been optimized and appearance adjusted, which gives certain boost to the combat capability.

    Temple of Heaven to reopen on May 1
