Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn left Xiamen City in east China's Fujian Province on Thursday, concluding an eleven-day visit to China.
In Xiamen, a booming port city, Sirindhorn was invited as honorary professor by Huaqiao University and Xiamen University, both of which are famous for providing education to overseas Chinese and spreading Chinese culture to the rest of the world.
A library at Huaqiao University was named after the Thai princess.
During a meeting with Sirindhorn, Xiamen Mayor Zhang Changping spoke highly of the princess' contribution to promoting the relationship between Thailand and Xiamen.
Princess Sirindhorn also visited the Lenovo Mobile Communication Technology Ltd, one of China's leading mobile phone manufacturers.
Fujian is the fifth leg of Sirindhorn's 23rd China tour since 1981. Prior to Fujian, she had traveled to Beijing, Zhejiang Province in east China, and the Guangxi Autonomous Region and Guangdong Province in south China.
Thanks to her keen interest in Chinese history, language and culture, Princess Sirindhorn has contributed tremendously in enhancing the understanding and communication between the people of China and Thailand.
