    Mountain fire put under control

    Smoke caused by woods fire is seen over the Yulong Snow Mountain, a famous tourist attraction near the ancient city of Lijiang in southwest China's Yunnan Province April 14, 2006. The fire broke out on April 12 and is now under control.

    The First World Buddhist Forum opens in China

The First World Buddhist Forum was opened on April 13 in Hangzhou, with the theme of "A harmonious world begins in the mind". More than 1,000 dignitaries and Buddhist experts and scholars from 34 countries and regions attended the four-day event.

    Folk tea ceremony

    First China made ferry boat for Russia ready to launch

    The passenger ferry boat, the first made in China for Russia, is ready for launch in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, April 14, 2006. The ferry boat, designed and built by Harbin Beifang Shipyard Co. Ltd., was launched in the Songhuajiang River in Harbin on Friday. It has a capacity of 200 passengers and will be delivered to Russia in May.

    Delhi mosque blasts injure 13

    Indian policemen inspect the blast site inside Jama Masjid in New Delhi, April 14, 2005. At least fifteen people were wounded in two explosions in the largest mosque in the Indian capital just after Friday prayers.
