Chinese president appoints new ambassadors

Chinese President Hu Jintao appointed new ambassadors to five countries on Friday, in accordance with a decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).

Hu Qianwen was appointed ambassador to Viet Nam, replacing Qi Jianguo.

Xie Junping was appointed to Estonia, replacing Hong Jiuyin.

Chen Duqing takes up the post in Brazil, replacing Jiang Yuande.

Zhao Jinjun, the ambassador to France, received the dual position of ambassador to the Principality of Monaco.
