Participants attending at the Cross-Straits Economic and Trade Forum called for the Taiwan authorities to allow the financial institutions from the Chinese mainland to set up branch offices in Taiwan Saturday.

The call was made in a Joint Proposal at the end of the two-day forum, which opened on Friday, by the delegates from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
