Chinese defense minister leaves Singapore for South KoreaChinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan left Singapore for the Republic of Korea (South Korea) Saturday morning after a three-day official goodwill visit to the city state. Cao, who is also vice chairman of the Central Military Commission of China and a State Councilor, arrived here Thursday at the invitation of his Singaporean counterpart Teo Chee Hean. During his stay here, Cao met with Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, and had a talk with Teo. Both sides agreed to further strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Singapore. Singapore was the fourth leg of Cao's tour to five Asian countries. He had been to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Vietnam and Malaysia before arriving in the city state.
