A survey released on Sunday showed that McDonald's Corp. topped list of the 10 most unpopular famous brands for British consumers.
McDonald's, which has been an internationally popular fast food favorite for many years, no longer suits the taste of British consumers, said the survey conducted by the British market study institution, Fraser.
In recent years, criticism has been mounting towards McDonald's, both in the United States and Europe, with advocates of healthy living claiming that the chain's main foods made people fat.
McDonald's has denied the allegation and has been trying to make its products more healthy to regain consumer confidence, but its efforts have had little effect.
McDonald's announced recently that it would have to close 25 chain stores in Britain.
According to the Fraser survey, the other nine most unpopular brands among British consumers were Nike, Shell, Adidas, the Barkly Bank, Coca Cola, BP, Camelot, American Express and Nestle.
