    "China's heaviest man" gains 100kg after marriage

    "China's heaviest man" Liang Yong, falls asleep beside his 9-month-old son as his wife Tang Xiaoyan washes his feet. Liang, 26, is a local of Dazu, southwest China's Sichuan Province. After marrying Tang Xiaoyan in July, 2004, Liang's weight bounced back from 100 kilograms to 210 kilograms. Now Tang takes care of all the house chores, she even washes face and feet for Liang. Liang, who now operates a stagnant tea shop, hopes he can find a job to support his family.

    The annual Plitzer Prize unveiled

    The photo by the staff of Dallas Morning Post wins the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography "for its vivid photographs depicting the chaos and pain after Hurricane Katrina engulfed New Orleans." The annual Pulitzer awards, including 19 categories and two special awards, were announced by the Columbia University in New York on April 17, 2006.

    Two young people swam through the underwater tunnel with lively music of Wedding March in Hangzhou Underwater World on April 16, the two in the water amid the fishes. It is said that two wedding ceremonies will be held here every day during the May Day holiday.

    Bus crash kills at least 67 in Mexico

    Rescuers search the wreckage of a crashed bus in the mountainous region in the Veracruz State, Mexico, Apr 17. At least 67 people were killed as a passenger bus veered off a highway emergency ramp and crashed through a metal barrier Monday, plunging more than 650 feet into a ravine that day.

    Achievements in protecting IPR "obvious"

    Chinese vice premier Wu Yi visits the Exhibition of China's Achievements in Intellectual Property Protection, held in Beijing, capital of China, April 17, 2006. The exhibition, opened on Sunday, focuses on intellectual property protection in China. Wu said China's efforts in IPR protection over the recent years have produced significant results.

    Suicide bomber kills 8 in Tel Aviv

    Wounded Israeli civilians get first aid, following a suicide attack at Tel Aviv's old central bus station April 17, 2006. A Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up outside a fast-food restaurant in a bustling commercial area of Tel Aviv during the Passover holiday Monday, killing eight other people and wounding at least 49.

    Thousands of residents gather to watch a Chinese traditional Qinqiang performance in a village in Northwest China's Gansu Province April 17, 2006. Qinqiang Opera, a popular local opera, has a long tradition in northwest China, especially in Shaanxi and Gansu provinces.

    Lien arrives in Fujian

    Kuomintang's honorary chairman Lien Chan delivers a speech upon his arrival in Fujian April 17, 2006. During his stay in Fujian, Lien will worship his ancestors in Zhangzhou City and receive an honorary doctor's degree from Xiamen University, media report said.
