Three men questioned on Chinese student death

New Zealand Police said Tuesday significant developments has been achieved in Auckland's Chinese student body in the suitcase killing.

Police officers said three men were questioned and are now assisting police following a raid on a central Auckland apartment this morning.

The body of English language student Wan Biao was found in a suitcase, floating in the Waitemata Harbor, last Friday.

Wan, who was from the Zhejiang province of China, died of multiple injuries.

Detective Inspector Bernie Hollewand said the Police have also learned where the suitcase containing the 19-year-old's body was thrown into the Harbor.

He said forensic tests have been conducted at an inner city hotel.

Police said they wanted to speak to a group of women who were at the corner of Wellesley and Elliot Streets, where is near the suspected scene, about 3:30 a.m. on Friday.

Hollewand said they could have information which would be useful to the inquiry.

Wan was last seen alive on Thursday night. He arrived in Auckland last August and had been studying English.

Earlier Tuesday police said they had been given leads on people Wan contacted on the internet, and people he socialized with, and they want those people to contact them.

The Police were also still trying to identify two men who were seen leaving the Westhaven Marina in a small boat at 8:30 a.m. on Good Friday.

The Police said Wan's parents in China was noticed the death of their son and they were "devastated."

The parents are coming to New Zealand.
